New York Fashion Week kicked off today in New York City. Although I was looking forward to seeing the all the designer collections on the runway, I was most excited to see Jason Wu's collection for the fall.
Designer Jason Wu, known for creating First Lady Michelle Obama's inaugural ball gown, showed off his Fall 2009 collection today after much anticipation. The 26-year-old designer shot to fame after Michelle Obama premiered his white embroidered gown with organza flowers in January.
Wu's collection featured edgy patterns and a mostly neutral palette with pops of bright color from neon yellow to different shades of blue. The collection included an array of gorgeous gowns, structured skirts, sheaths, and chiffon blouses. Wu's collection was simple and modern yet had a touch of elegance. He is definitely a designer to continue to watch in the future.
